The remains of the last quagga (Equus quagga quagga), a mare that lived at the Natura Artis Magistra zoo in Amsterdam from 9 May 1867 – 12 August 1883 [x].

Quaggas went extinct in the wild in 1878. There are only 23 preserved skins of this magnificent animal; one mounted skin was destroyed in Germany during WWII.
