Amazingly enough, the hippo is the third largest land mammal on Earth and their closest living relatives are cetaceans (including dolphins, porpoises and whales)! These semi-aquatic animals are highly prone to aggression and can be extremely dangerous when provoked. Despite their rotund appearance, these animals reach a top speed of roughly 30kph over short distances.
