Posting as I suspect it’ll be of interest to a few of you.
I went behind the scenes at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. They have quite a few oddities and treasures.
The skull in the first photo is a northern white rhino, recently extinct. (It’s resting upside down to prevent stress on its teeth.)
And in front of it (also seen in the second photo) is a thylacine.
