The remains of the last quagga (Equus quagga quagga), a mare that lived at the Natura Artis Magistra zoo in Amsterdam from 9 May 1867 – 12 August 1883 [x].
Quaggas went extinct in the wild in 1878. There are only 23 preserved skins of this magnificent animal; one mounted skin was destroyed in Germany during WWII.

Found all these critters within the last 3 days!
1 Squirrel, 1 Otter, 3 cats, 4 fledglings, 1 bird, 1 mouse, a calf skull, and 1 butterfly!

Detail photo from one of my favorite marble statues; ‘Hexe’ by Carl Cauer {1874}. Visiting national galleries & museums abroad truly make me feel like a kid in a candy store.

Just added these two lovely sisters to the Cleveland Curiosities family. This is a genuine calf, not a gaffe. These beauties are an authentic piece from Jim Moody’s “Freak Animal Show”, circa 1980’s. They will be @clevelandcuriosities shop opening, make sure to stop in and meet them in person. #clevelandcuriosities #Oddities #obscure #Horror #wetspecimen #biology #calf #curio #freakshow #freakanimal #bones #skulls #cabinetofcuriosities #twofaced #taxidermy #specimen #deadstuff #morbid #oddity #tattoo #clevelandoddities #freak #freaksofnature #freaks #sideshow #circus #sideshowcollectibles
