Pug Skull.
This is the most deformed skull I own and although it was a holy grail for the collection, looking at this makes me nauseated. We need to stop supporting these dogs and their breeders, and we need to stop normalising the brachycephalic head shape and its associated problems. It is not ethical to breed dogs that will mostly need surgery to be compatible with life.

_
Vesta was a life size model of a Great Dane used to teach people about the inner workings of their beloved pets. She was equipped with a recorded voice to give lectures about the structure of a dog.
_
She was made for the Gaines dog research center of New York and toured America back in the 50’s. She was on display at The Field Museum from July 15th to Sept 15 1955.
_
The Field Museum of Natural History, also known as The Field Museum, is a natural history museum in the city of Chicago, and is one of the largest such museums in the world.
_
I could not find any info on where Vesta is now or if she still exists but I hope she is in a museum somewhere still educating people.
