The skull of a horse with cyclopia.

The bizarre condition of cyclopia, where there is failure for proper division of the cerebral hemispheres, which affects the face. There is usually no nasal cavity and a single eye that may appear as two eyes fused together. Something like this is fatal from birth, and certainly monstrous in appearance, but it is nature, and is an insight into how development works, and what can go wrong.
